Who We Are

Pattern Research, Inc. is a family-owned business. We have 44 years of experience providing research, consulting, and educational services to people and organizations all over the world, and we are proud that some of our customers have been with us since the beginning.

We are as concerned as you are about transactions on and off the Internet: maintaining privacy, protecting information, and knowing that what we choose to share is used in ways that are appropriate and beneficial. We have never sold our customer information to anyone and don’t plan to in the future.

The Basics

We use your information only with your permission. If we share it, it is for a specific purpose that you have approved. It will be obvious and reasonable, such as sending you information about classes, keeping track of your enrollment and payments, and communicating with you about your concerns. We will ask for the least amount of data that allows us to serve you.

What We Might Ask For

  • Your name, job title, and workplace information
  • Your contact information, including email address
  • Your billing information
  • Your interests and opinions
  • The kinds of technology you are using to access our online products and services

Controlling Your Personal Information

We will ask you when you contract for services or purchase products if we can contact you with information about future programs and services.

You can always change your mind and ask us to stop sending newsletters, postcards, etc. You can also contact us and make sure the information we have about you is correct and complete.

What We Do With The Information We Gather

  • Keep financial records, and send and receive payments.
  • Contact you by email, phone, fax, mail, or social media and respond to your comments and concerns, ask you questions, and inform you of events, products, and services.

We shred our documents with a bonded service, keep paper archives under lock and key offsite, use passwords and encryptions, and work with financial professionals who are constantly upgrading their security systems. We seek out vendors and partners with solid reputations for secure online transactions.

But the world is complicated, and we would be lying if we made guarantees we know we can’t keep. (No privacy statement will magically protect your personal information, no matter how many legal-sounding promises are included.) So far, we have a perfect record of maintaining client privacy. If we ever experience a breach in our security systems that threatens your information, we will let you know immediately.

How We Use Cookies

A cookie is a small computer file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. A cookie does not gives us access to your computer or any information about you personally.

We use cookies to track web statistics, so, for example, we know how many people are using the site, how they got to the site (through links and social media), their geographic locations, how many new versus return visitors are coming to the the site, their geographic locations, if people are responding to announcements and campaigns, which pages and features are being used, and if new features are working and being used.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies; you can set your browser in most cases to reject cookies. Please be aware that this might prevent you from taking full advantage of the website as we develop new services.

Links To Other Websites

Our website contains links to other websites, including educational resources and the web sites of our training partners. We have no control over these sites, and we are not responsible for their content or the protection and privacy of any information that you provide while visiting them. You should exercise caution and study the privacy statement applicable to the websites in question.

Other Business And Service Websites

Some links on our website are businesses that we use for registering, hosting, and paying for services and products we offer. At the current time these include:

All three have excellent security track records involving millions of online transactions. They require that you provide them, at the least, with an authentic e-mail and password. Eventbrite and Paypal also require that you provide credit card and/or banking information as well as contact information. You can review their privacy statements online.

Because we are a small business you receive personalized service. But the downside is the fact that we are small. If you have special concerns, we will accommodate you the best we can. Meanwhile, let’s stay safe together.
